The IPL Team is looking to fill the role of Tooling Manager for our Urbana, Ohio facility.

The Springfield facility is one of the primary manufacturing sites for producing customized thin-wall injection molded containers, lids, overcaps and custom packaging solutions for branded and private label food and consumer product companies all over the world. Position Title: Tooling Manager

Location: Urbana, Oh

What you will bring to the role:

Oversees the design of production tooling and recommends solutions to issues related to materials, processes, and tooling functions. Plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the Advanced Manufacturing and Machine Maintenance departments ensuring the development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet the current and future needs of the company.

The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate with VP, Operations North America on long-range machine tooling goals, expansion plans and implementation of new and advanced tooling and production line related technology.
  • Oversee design of new tools for manufacturing.
  • Facilitate and authorize repairs, maintenance and/or replacement of tooling equipment and hardware.
  • Develop new tooling methods and redesign current tooling standards to reduce production costs.

Essential experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or related technical field.
  • At least 10 years' experience with tooling & mold fabrication
  • Experience as a machinist of automated systems preferred
  • Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.
  • Injection molding tooling experience strongly preferred
