Senior Maintenance Lead

The Maintenance Department is looking to fill the role of Maintenance Automation Lead in the Lee’s Summit, Missouri facility. The maintenance automation lead's job purpose is to maintain and setup all automation within the plant including, robotics, stacking equipment and auxiliary equipment. The Lee's Summit facility is one of the primary manufacturing sites for producing customized thin-wall injection molded containers, lids, overcaps and custom packaging solutions for branded and private label food and consumer product companies all over the world. IPL is the trusted innovation partner to some of the biggest brands in the world and by working closely with customers to design and develop the right solution, millions of people around the world use our products every day.

Position Title: Maintenance Automation Lead

Location: Lee’s Summit, Missouri

What you will bring to the role:

A reliable, dependable candidate who will bring a team player mindset with the ability to work autonomously as needed.

The successful candidate will:

  • Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems.
  • Monitor automated systems.
    • Isolate issues and repair or replace any necessary components.
    • Troubleshoot issues, determine if issue is mechanical, electrical or computer control system related.
    • Create operating instructions for automation machinery.
    • Perform and document preventive maintenance.
    • Maintain spare parts inventory.
    • Follow and enforce GMP and all Food Safety policies
  • Exhibit a sense of ownership in the results of the Maintenance team.
  • Previous experience and knowledge in:
    • Troubleshooting electrical controls
    • 480, 230, 120VAC, 24VDC
    • Wiring and programming VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives)
    • PLC programming and troubleshooting
    • HMI programming
    • Reading schematics
  • Positive and professional attitude and demeanor.
  • Ability to learn quickly and with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve during troubleshooting situations.
  • Above average attendance.
  • Required training (training will be provided in all areas, as needed):
    • Forklift
    • Lockout/Tagout
    • Arc Flash
    • Qualified Electrical
    • First Aid/CPR
    • Fire Extinguisher
    • Hazardous Communication
  • Education and Experience
    • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
    • Certifications or degrees in electrical controls.
    • Previous manufacturing experience, preferred.
    • Additional requirements:

      Candidate must be able to pass a Post Offer Essential Function Test (POET) and an Occupational Examination to demonstrate the capability to safety perform the essential function of the job to include:

    • Vision Test
    • Hearing Test
    • Dexterity Test on Wrists, Grip, and Pinch (grip must be within the gender and age requirements for each candidate tested)
    • Lifting test to confirm ability to lift 50 lbs. from ankle, knee, and chest height to a level of ground, 35” and 55” height
    • Push/Pull test to confirm ability to move 80 lbs. to confirm ability to move product via an assisted device in our facility

Schedule:
