IPL Hull was built in the millennium year and there are employees working today who witnessed the first brick being laid! Our Hull location is an experienced leader in the injection and blow moulding industry housing state of the art blow moulding machines and a modern fleet of injection moulding machines. IPL Hull takes initiative on providing eco-friendly solutions and pride themselves on delivering products specifically tailored to their customers' needs. Key products include the “One Nest” stacking crate, jerry cans, Water Butt, composter, kerbside boxes, food waste containers and nestable bale arm trays.

An opportunity has a arisen for a Tool Setter to join our Technical department at our Hull site.

This is an integral role in our operations in which daily setting activities are controlled so that service to production is maintained with tool changes and first offs in line with ‘On Time In Full’ (OTIF) principles.

You will work as part of a broader team of technical colleagues to methodically solve problems that arise during and after tool changes, focusing on machine uptime and high quality standards.

Please note that this is a shift based (12 hours) role on a continental pattern including days, nights and weekends.

Key responsibilities include

· Ensure that production meets set targets and drive improvements in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), scrap reduction, and real time issues that result in waste.

· Preparing necessary tooling and equipment in advance of the tool change required.

· Setting tools in presses and safe start/stop processes in line with production requirements.

· Perform colour changes and support in the training of production colleagues to build the capability of this task.

· Presenting of First Off parts after machine start up for quality inspection.

· Ensure that necessary safety checks and maintenance in and around machine areas are routinely actioned, highlighting areas of concern as necessary and without delay.

· Highlight downtime, quality complaints, and set-up issues that affect plant performance.

· Work with peers to achieve effective shift handovers, driving common standards and procedures so that the business operates efficiently 24 hours per day.

· Promote a culture of continuous improvement, contributing to projects across the shift, with the direct team, and covering all departments.

About You

You will have proven setting experience gained from within an injection and, ideally, blow moulding facility.

You will have a keen interest in developing your blow mould expertise, both to strengthen your own personal development, and also support the growth of the business.

Ideally, you will have achieved a Level 2 qualification in Polymer Processing, or industry recognised equivalent, and an overhead crane licence is also desirable for the delivery of this role.

You may be familiar with Engel, Negri Bossi, and Haitian IMM machinery, as well as Sepro Engel Viper robotics.

You will be an effective communicator who can liaise with key stakeholders from across departments.
